Kokako Farms Awen Chardonnay 2024

Our story begins on the left bank of the Ngaruroro River in western Hawke's Bay — a place where river gravels, a unique micro-climate, and decades of careful stewardship converge. This terroir gives our chardonnays their signature natural acidity and our syrah its depth and structure. Every bottle is a reflection of this valley, captured at the right moment of ripeness.

Named after the druidic spirit of creativity, the complex flavours of the region play out in the exquisite palate of Awen, Their Premium Chardonnay.

The Ohiti Valley’s microclimate and gravel soils offer optimum ripening conditions as well as protecting the natural acidity of the wines.

The 2024 El Nino season delivered optimum growing conditions, with the resulting wine showing intensity and clarity. 

This chardonnay offers full palate weight with the richness of 10 months French Oak ageing. Citrus and stone-fruit tones overlay a flinty minerality
