PROVIDENCE PRIVATE RESERVE MATAKANA 2013

The 2013 summer months were the driest in the Matakana area in 47 years, with abundant sunshine resulting in harvest temperature 2-3 degrees higher than normal. The resulting wine has intense body and depth of fruit, with complex minerality and length on the palate. The 2013 is considered an excellent vintage for Providence.

Tasting Notes: The Private Reserve presents with a fresh red berry nose and chocolate notes underscoring the tannins. The wine is a bright cherry color with intense clarity and brightness. On the palate, the wine shows with deep blackberry fruit and dusty tannins, coupled with vanilla undertones. Focused young tannins lengthen the wine and finishes with immense precision. 56% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot, 19% Malbec.
