2025
Planted in 1992 on our warmest, windiest site, this Gewurztraminer grows among large rocks on the lowest terrace at 33m elevation — 6m below Craighall and the Estate. From the esteemed Colmar clone of Alsace, the warm 2025 season promoted a soft and broad polish to the underlying matrix of savoury phenolics, allowing a grace and lightness to this opulent variety.
421 cases produced.
If opening prior to 2028, allow one hour of oxygen exposure before enjoying.
Drink 2027–2045.
Serving suggestion: serve at 10–12°C with Thai salad, Balinese Rendang, or blue vein cheeses.
Lychee, marmalade, kefir lime leaf, and rose petal perfumes float effortlessly from the glass. The warmth of the 2025 season lends a soft, broad polish to the underlying matrix of savoury phenolics — chamomile tea and vanilla cream characters from front to back, with a grace and lightness that belies the opulence of the variety. A touch of botrytis influence brings muscat into the background. Clean fruit. A pure example.

The nose is initially closed with orange marmalade, jackfruit and candied apricots. Then the spices, like cumin and fenugreek, become more visible. Grilled pineapple, nashi pear and honey rate come forward with time.
The palate, too, is slow to reveal itself. It is delicate and deep, with a persistent texture throughout. Slightly drier than previous years, which exposes the mid palate more, the real nature of the wine becomes evident after several approaches: calm, juicy and delicious, with a strong personality.
