STONECROFT CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2020

In 2013 Stonecroft purchased a vineyard at the end of Mere Road, our Fernhill Vineyard. This vineyard is made up of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. It was previously owned by Mills Reef and was known as their Trust Vineyard. 2015 was our second vintage from the vineyard. The vines were planted in 2000 and 2001.

WINE

Colour:A deep ruby red colour.
Aromatics:A varietal bouquet with rich blackcurrant, black olice and sweet vanilla.
Palate:This is our second straight Cabernet Sauvignon from the Fernhill Vineyard. It has concentrated black fruit flavours, with good tannins and cedar on the finish.

Harvest:Hand harvested on 5th April 2014
Vinification:Fermented in open-top stainless steel fermenters. Wild ferment. Hand plunged two times daily. Post fermentation soak for two to three weeks followed by maturation in barrel.
Maturation:Matured in French oak barriques for 18 months (15% new).
